To achieve this, we have recently subjected a range of our lights to DOT regulation testing and evaluated their compliance with SAE build guidelines.

The Dakar Rally is an event that epitomises the pinnacle of extreme off-road motorsport. More than just a race, it’s a journey that tests the limits of both human and machine in some of the world's most demanding environments.Traversing continents and climates, from the arid dunes of Africa (1978 - 2008) to the diverse terrains of South America (2009 - 2019), and currently the challenges of the Middle East (2020 - present), each iteration of the Dakar Rally has brought its own set of trials.

In an exciting development for one of the UK’s fastest growing companies, Lazer Lamps Ltd becomes an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) owned business. In a clear signal of confidence to the future success of the business, company founder Ben Russell-Smith remains as Managing Director of the company, but passes ownership of the company to the EOT. The first shipment of Triple-R High Performance LED lighting has arrived and is ready to order. Triple-R Lights LLC, a subsidiary of UK LED lighting manufacturer, Lazer Lamps, has been set up to specifically cater to the US market. The business will supply a wide range of its world-class auxiliary LED light bars, vehicle integration kits, motorsport rally pods and other LED lighting accessories, from its US warehouse and logistics hub in Florida,  with the products specifically branded and presented for the US market.

Originally developed by Bosch in the 1980s, CAN (Control Area Network) is a robust system which enables high-speed communications and signals between different systems on a vehicle without the need for complex wiring. An increasing number of manufacturers utilise CAN Bus for managing systems such as lighting, heating, instrumentation, suspension, braking and engine control with separate ECUs which can be linked with a single pair of wires, thus drastically cutting down the total amount of wiring required within a vehicle.

Fitting auxiliary lights to a rally car has been around almost since the very first cars started racing. In bad weather, low light conditions and night stages, rally drivers need better visibility of the road ahead and a clear view of the track. The first auxiliary rally car lights were simply additional headlights mounted across the front of the grille or over the bonnet. Look back to rally cars of the 70s and 80s and the traditional bonnet mounted lights became iconic, to the extent that the Lancia Stratos looks positively naked without the four extra rally lights mounted to the front edge of the bonnet.
